Soma Chems, a long-running online supplier of research peptides and research chemicals, has closed. It announced the closure in mid-October 2026, and its website now says it is no longer accepting new orders. If you used Soma Chems for lab supplies, this page covers what is known about the closure, how to avoid the copycat sites that usually follow a vendor shutting down, and what to check before choosing a new supplier.
All compounds discussed are sold for laboratory research use only and are not for human or veterinary use. This page summarizes publicly reported business closures and is not legal or medical advice.
The short version
- Soma Chems’ closure became public on October 14, 2026.
- As of October 17, 2026, its website says it is no longer accepting new orders. Existing customers can still manage orders and contact support there.
- No reason for the closure was given.
- Soma Chems was Amino Asylum relaunched under a new name, and the same business now runs Amino Tech.
What we know about the Soma Chems closure
The closure became public through an October 14, 2026 announcement distributed to news sites. It states that Soma Chems is closing its business but doesn’t say why or when the last orders will ship. That announcement was published by another supplier, so treat any claims in it beyond the closure itself with caution. Soma Chems’ own website now confirms the closure: it says the store is no longer accepting new orders and points existing customers to its order management page and support chat. For anything about your order, that site is your primary source.
Soma joins a run of vendor closures this year. See our tracker of research peptide vendors that closed in 2026 for the others and what’s known about each.
Soma Chems, Amino Asylum and Amino Tech
Many Soma Chems customers came over from Amino Asylum. After Amino Asylum’s storefront went offline in mid-2025, the business relaunched as Soma Chems, promoted by many of the same affiliates with ads describing it as “formerly Amino Asylum.” The same business also runs Amino Tech, which many former Soma affiliates now promote. As of October 2026, the Amino Tech website lists no business address and no batch testing reports. Our Amino Asylum guide covers the full history.
If you’re looking for an Amino Asylum or Soma Chems alternative, the checks below apply either way.
If you have an open Soma Chems order
- Contact Soma Chems support directly. Its website still has a Manage Orders page and support chat for existing customers.
- Save your receipts and order emails.
- If you paid by card and don’t hear back, ask your card issuer about a dispute before the time limit runs out.
- Don’t pay any third party that offers to fulfill Soma orders unless Soma confirms the arrangement.
Watch for “successor” scams. When a vendor closes, copycat sites often appear claiming to be the “new home” of the old brand, a sister company or an official replacement, and ask former customers to pay up front for orders they never ship. Peptide Sciences, Science.bio and Chemyo all published statements that no other site represents them. Unless the original company announces a successor on its own website or email list, treat any such claim as unverified.
How to choose a new research peptide supplier
When a vendor you trusted closes, it’s tempting to pick the next cheapest name. Price is the least reliable signal. Check for these instead:
- A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for the exact product and batch you would receive, not a generic or old report.
- Purity and identity on the same report. HPLC shows purity. Mass spectrometry confirms the compound is what the label says.
- A way to verify the report with the lab that issued it, such as a lab-hosted link or a QR code, so you are not relying on a PDF anyone could edit.
- A real, reachable business: working support email and phone, clear shipping and refund policies, and a U.S. shipping origin if speed matters to you.
- Buyer protection. Be cautious with any new vendor that only accepts payment methods you can’t dispute, like wire transfers or gift cards.
Our guide How to Read a Peptide COA explains each part of a report and the red flags of a forged one, and our U.S. Research Peptide Price Report shows the current price range for common compounds so you can spot prices that look too good to be true.
How Rogue Compounds compares on those checks
- Batch COAs: every product page shows the COA for the batch currently shipping, and every passing batch is public in our COA Library.
- Purity and identity: each batch is tested by an independent, ISO 17025 accredited U.S. laboratory for HPLC purity and mass spectrometry identity.
- Lab verification: each vial label carries a batch number and a QR code that opens that batch’s report on the testing lab’s own website.
- Shipping: U.S. only, by UPS 2-Day, with same-day dispatch on orders placed by 12 PM MT. P.O. Box orders ship USPS Priority Mail.
- Sourcing: small batches made only for Rogue, with new batches made in the USA. See where our peptides are made.
Rogue Compounds is not affiliated with Soma Chems, Amino Asylum or Amino Tech.
