BPC-157 + TB-500 is a lyophilized research blend that combines two of the most widely studied repair-model peptides in one vial: BPC-157, a synthetic 15-residue peptide, and TB-500, thymosin β4. Each has its own preclinical literature. Unlike most blends, this pairing has also been tested together in at least one published animal study, which this overview covers along with where the evidence stops.

At a glance

Why laboratories pair these two

BPC-157 and thymosin β4 come from unrelated sources, but their research overlaps heavily: both have been studied in tendon, wound and vascular models, and both are discussed in work on cell migration. That overlap is why they are so often compared, and why a combined vial, made as a single lot with a single certificate of analysis, is useful to labs running side-by-side models.

The two components

BPC-157

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide developed and characterized by Predrag Sikiric’s group at the University of Zagreb. Rat and cell studies report effects on tendon fibroblast outgrowth, survival and migration (Chang et al., 2011), and a body of work examines its interaction with blood vessels (Seiwerth et al., 2014). TB-500 (thymosin β4)

Thymosin β4 is a 43-residue protein best known for binding and sequestering actin monomers (Safer et al., 1991). In culture it promoted directional migration of endothelial cells (Malinda et al., 1997), and it has since been studied in cardiac, dermal and tendon injury models. Research on the combination

A 2026 rat Achilles tendon study compared TB-500, BPC-157 and the two given together, using histopathology and biomechanical load testing (Biçer et al., 2026). The authors described their results as exploratory. One rodent study is a starting point, not an established finding, and it does not say how the two peptides interact in a single preparation.

What the evidence does not show

Regulatory status

Neither component is approved by the FDA as a drug. BPC-157 has been on the WADA Prohibited List under S0 since 2022, and thymosin β4 and its derivatives fall under WADA S2. The BPC-157 + TB-500 blend sold by Rogue Compounds is a research reagent for laboratory use only. It is not for human consumption.

Handling and storage in the lab

Lyophilized BPC-157 + TB-500 should be kept sealed and refrigerated at 2–8°C (36–46°F), protected from light.

Sourcing and documentation

Rogue Compounds has BPC-157 + TB-500 made in small batches. Every vial carries a batch number and a QR code that opens the independent U.S. testing lab’s own report for that batch, and the same batch COA, including the amount of each component, is on the product page and in the COA Library.
